The Northern Railway collaborated with Desmania, Delhi, to design a universal tray and mechanical system that can be adapted to any of the current Vande Bharat Executive class seat, while keeping in mind the ease of maintenance. The project followed in person visits to the executive coaches and railway workshops, Understanding both the passenger and crew. The project led to several levels of prototyping, followed by two high-fidelity POCs. The selected concept followed iterative refinement, accounting for load bearing standards, material optimization, and maintenance methods. The design is currently under strict NDA.
